Orange Beta originated from the state of Florida's fruit being an orange the way one might climb a route being called a beta. Orange Beta, therefore, symbolizes the climbing community prevalent throughout the state of Florida. The "A" in orange was replaced with a "V" to symbolize the V scale which determines the difficulty within indoor bouldering and rock climbing. The "A" in Beta lost it's cross bar to symbolize a mountain or the idea of going up.
